Did British help India by making it a colony?

There many false claims about British rule in India. Some of them are- British helped in uniting India. British brought industries and science to India. Without British rule, India would be in constant chaos.  Other colonial powers are worse then British. In my opinion, each of the above statement is a brutal lie. In this article, I want to give some facts debunking those lies. India(Bharat) is always referred as a land between Himalayas in the North to a large ocean in the South. Which is what present day India is. Ofcourse, the entire region is not under a single ruler politically for most of the time. But, this entire region is always united culturally. Even politically many rulers have tried to unite India in the recorded history. Empires who are successful either to rule or influence the entire region are Mauryas, Guptas and Mughals. Ofcourse, there are Satavahanas and Cholas from the south who extended their rule and influence beyond Ganga. Even, just before Britis...

Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 14

Krishna : Arjuna, let me retell you the wisdom that leads to salvation. Who ever understands this will become part of me and don't need to worry about the rebirth cycle anymore.  For every living thing, nature is the mother and I am the father. The “Sath”, “Rajas” and “Tamoh” attributes which are part of nature imprisons the soul of the living being in their body. The “Sath” attribute is the purest and keeps a person pleasant. The “Rajas” attribute will cause desire in a person. The “Tamas” attribute causes ignorance, thereby resulting in hallucinations and laziness. This way, these 3 attributes imprisons a person in his body. In other words, the “Sath” attribute will make a person search for happiness, the “Rajas” attribute will keep a person busy with their worldly deeds and the “Tamas” attribute will mask the wisdom for a person. A person has to go through “Rajas” and “Tamas” attributes to reach the “Sath” attribute.  A person with the “Sath” attribute is filled with wisdom...

My view on how Religion and Science should effect a person

You might like or dislike, religion is a most important aspect in the life of billions of people. Unfortunately, this is also the most widely exploited tool to ignite hatred between different sects for political/personal gains. People who are being exploited don't recognize that they are being exploited. On the contrary, they are absolutely sure that what they believe is true and everything else is false. Believe me, none of these people has any clue of why their belief system is true and other belief systems are false.  We can also find one common observation that these people(irrespective of which religion they belong) claim that their religion teaches peace. But, these are the same people who gets irritated and angry if anyone asks them questions. The real reason they gets angry is because they can't answer rational questions. But, the reason they claim for their anger is due to the insult caused to their belief. While this anger is vented verbally by most people. The...

Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 13

Arjuna : Krishna, please elaborate the terms Nature, Human, Kshetram, Kshetragna, Gnanam, Gneyam. Krishna : Arjuna, a human body is called “Kshetram”. Who knows about it and stays in it is “Kshetragna”. I am the “Kshetragna” who dwells in every “Kshetram”. Understanding and distinguishing these two is Gnanam(wisdom). In simple words, whatever you see or feel is entirely “Kshetram”. To be down to earth, not self boosting, non-violent, patience, honesty, respecting teacher, hygiene, stable mind, self restraint, detachment to pleasure, absence of pride, exploring the reasons of human suffering, not attached to family relations, equi minded, devotion, not taking unnecessary worries, enjoying solitude, not interested in fuss, persistent desire to learn and craving for knowledge forms the extensive list for Gnanam. Gneyam is the one which shows the way for salvation. In other words, it is the Brahman. This Brahman is everywhere and ever present. Even though the Brahman is present everywhe...
