Why communist states always fail

When I am a teenager, I used to love the concept of communism. It looked perfect-

1. Everything is owned by government and therefore public property.
2. Everyone has equal access to everything.
3. Everyone gets equally irrespective of what they does.
4. No question of religion and caste.

What else is required for a teenager with limited knowledge to think it is the perfect recipe for all world problems. My thesis is confirmed in many movies which shows all factory owners are evil and all labor unions are led by pious people, who is either lead or lead's father. Used to feel very happy when this pious labor leader defeats or kills the evil owner.

But, one question that used to linger in my head is. If communism is perfect, why everyone wants to immigrate to places like USA and Europe. Which are supposed to be capitalist sin states. But, no one wants to visit North Korea. Which is the country following communist ideology.

Ofcourse, I didn't have answer for this then. But, once I started working. I got the answers automatically. 

• If everyone is anyway going to get same, why will anyone put efforts to do better. 
• If innovators are put down, just because they want to do different then others. Why will anyone even try to innovate.

That is the same problem with communist states. Everyone wants to get and no one knows what to do. Even if someone knows what to do, they will be put down immediately as what he/she says is not populist enough. 

There are plenty of examples for this-

• The fall of Argentina during early 1900's.
• Fall of Chegoslavya 
• Financial crisis in Greece
• Record inflation in Venezuela. 

These are all case studies that debunk the theory that state owning everything is good. Venezuela is a classic example where soon after state took over all companies, everything became a wreckage very soon. As soon as oil prices fall from record 140$ per barrel. They are not able to offer the same free stuff to people as before. As they didn't plan for a bad day and diversify their economy, the number of dollars they earn from oil is reduced and there by they don't have enough dollars to import the same stuff they did earlier. This led to record inflation. Finally people suffered due to this. I am sure this won't have happened in a private owned market. The simple reason is, in private owned there is a person who will be the loser if things didn't go well. In state owned, there is no defined ownership. 

This is the simple reason why communist states fail always. Now, if anyone wants to point me to the case of China. I will only assume that they don't know what they are talking about. China is a communist country by name, but not in practice.
