The game of dice laid clear path for war. Yudistara, the eldest of Pandavas and King of Indraprasta lost everything in gambling. He lost all his wealth, his kingdom, himself, all his brothers and finally the queen of Indraprasta, Draupadi.
Yudistara's opponent, Duryodhana the prince of Hastinapura along with his mentor and uncle Sakuni, his brother Dushyasana and his friend Karna are cherishing the moment. They are making the best use of the opportunity to humiliate Pandava brothers. They took away the crown of Yudistara, weapons of Pandavas and even their cloths. Some of the people in the court of India's biggest empire are cherishing what is happening, while those who felt it wrong remained mute.
Duryodhana wants to take the insult to Pandava's to next level. He ordered Pratihari, the royal servant to bring Draupadi to the court. Vidura, the wise Prime Minister of Hastinapura can no longer withstand this. He rose and said to Drutharastra, the blind king of Hastinapura.
Vidura: Oh King! your duty as King is to prevent unjust in your Kingdom. Unfortunately, such unjust is happening right in your royal court. It is not our norm to bring women to the court. So, please void this game and avoid the bigger disaster on our Kingdom.
(Duryodana interrupted the Vidura and shouted.)
Duryodana: The game was played after the permission of King. The game was played in front of the King. The game was played only after both sides agreed for the game. No one is forced to raise stakes in the game. Yudistara didn't asked to stop the game anytime. Yudistara did everything with his own will. So, there is no reason to invalidate the came.
(Duryodana to Pratihari.)
Duryodana: Pratihari, what are you waiting for. Go and bring Draupadi to the court immediately.
(Pratihari left to follow the order of the Prince. Vidura, didn't give up his argument. He continued.)
