Krishna: Arjuna, you are not the first person to receive this immense wisdom from me. I have explained this to Sun God earlier. He has transferred to mankind through Manu and from Manu to Ikshawaku. This wisdom transferred over generations of mankind and enlightened great seers. But, this wisdom is lost over time. I am now retelling this to you not just because you are my devotee, but because you are also my friend.
Arjuna: Krishna, you are born recently but Sun exists always. How is it possible for you to recite this to Sun God?
Krishna: The current form of me is born recently. But, there is no question of my existence before I were born. You, I and everyone around here existed always. Only difference is, only I remember what has happened before I took my current form. I am actually creating an illusion of my birth within the nature, which I rule. I create such illusions to destroy the evil whenever it gets upper hand over good. Understand this nature of mine and you won’t take birth again.
You can also reach me either by leaving lust, anger and fear or by seeking refugee with me. There is no single way to reach me, you can reach me through any path you choose and praying me in any form you want.
I have created humans to fit in one of the 4 categories according to their behavior. While I am responsible for these 4 categories, I am not responsible for which category one ends up with. That depends on the Karma performed by the individual.
I am not interested in the results, I am not bound to any Karma in the Universe. Understand me this way to detach yourself from all the attachments.
Even the wisest monks are confused to understand what Karma is and what Karma is not. A yogi should be able to see what to be avoided in a task that needs to be done and should be able to see what should be done in a task that needs to be avoided.
A yogi starts his tasks without lust, creates an environment in which he is not bound to perform any Karma, and won’t have interest in the results. But he still performs his Karma with responsibility. This way, he will not have any traces of Karma even after performing them regularly.
Be content with what you have, be focused on what you want, take both victory and defeat as same. Then you will not get bounded to anything. Your result will be eternal if you consider the task as eternal and take all the byproducts while performing that task as eternal.
Everyone is bounded to perform some task. It could be worshiping God of his choice or performing work for living or controlling his senses or living according to the wishes of his senses or being curious to attain wisdom or performing rigorous rituals. Sins of people are washed while they are performing their tasks. More than that, the result you obtain after performing your task is equal to nectar, consuming which one can reach almighty. Those who refuses to perform their responsibility are of no use on earth. A wise person will understand these as tasks attached to a person during his birth and gets himself detached from them.
Arjuna, craving for enlightenment is better than dwelling in material tasks. Attaining enlightenment is the ultimate destination for all the tasks one performs. Understand this, then no petty lust can surround you. You will be able to see the composition of whole universe in yourself and then realize that it is actually me. This enlightenment can help even the sinner of all sinners. Like fire burns wood and convert it to ashes, this enlightenment will burn the lust gathered.
Nothing is more sacred then wisdom. He who perform his tasks with perfection and dedication attains wisdom. Once this wisdom is attained, he will automatically attain salvation. But he who dwells in ignorance, doubtfulness and heedlessness will never reach this state nor atleast gain happiness. In short, he who drives away confusion with wisdom and detaches himself from all tasks with dedication will never get bounded by anything. So, drive away your confusion and start performing your tasks with dedication.
